These Terms are an agreement between you and Veridem Holdings Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation ("Veridem," "we," "us"). By using MHAIX you agree to them.
What MHAIX Is
MHAIX (Meaningful Human Authorship Index) is a self-attested documentation tool. You answer questions about how you made a piece of music and may upload supporting evidence. MHAIX calculates a score and verdict across nine weighted dimensions, issues a digitally signed certificate, and registers it in the Veridem Authorship Registry.
MHAIX is an evidence layer. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for registering your work with the U.S. Copyright Office. We do not independently verify your answers, and we do not guarantee that the Copyright Office, a PRO, a distributor, a label, or anyone else will accept a MHAIX certificate. Talk to a qualified attorney before relying on it for a legal or commercial decision.
Who Can Use MHAIX
MHAIX is intended for people 18 or older. If you are under 18, you may use MHAIX only through an account opened and controlled by a parent or legal guardian, with their consent and supervision. A parent or guardian who opens an account for a minor is responsible for everything entered or finalized under that account, and agrees to these Terms on the minor's behalf. This matters because certificates are permanent public records — see Certificates, the Registry, and Permanence below — and a finalized certificate cannot be withdrawn.
MHAIX is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account or finalized a certificate, contact us at hello@getveridem.com and we will work with you to correct or address it.
You must also be able to form a binding legal agreement and not be barred from using our services under applicable law.
Accounts and Guest Use
You can use MHAIX as a guest or with an account (email and password, magic link, Google, or Apple). Guest drafts live in your browser and, when saved, on our servers behind a private edit key. If you lose that key or clear your browser, we may not be able to recover a guest draft. Some features — such as the Evidence Vault, Library, Locker, purchases, and amendments — need an account. Keep your sign-in details safe; you are responsible for activity under your account.
Your Responsibility for Accuracy
You are responsible for everything you enter, including your legal name, citizenship, co-author information, and ownership splits. Knowingly giving false information in connection with a copyright registration can lead to cancellation of the registration and civil or criminal liability (for example, 17 U.S.C. §506(e)).
Co-Authors
If you list co-authors, you must have their consent to enter their details and typed signature. Veridem is not responsible for disputes between co-authors about splits or credit.
Your Content
You keep all rights to your music, answers, and evidence files. You give us a limited license to store, process, and display that content only as needed to run MHAIX for you — including sending parts of it to the AI features and the Registry as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your work.
AI Features
Some suggestions (answer quality tips, the registration assistant, and the pre-finalization evidence review) are generated by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete, they do not change your score, and you should review them yourself before acting on them.
Certificates, the Registry, and Permanence
When you finalize, your certificate is signed and registered. A registered certificate is permanent: it cannot be withdrawn from the Veridem Authorship Registry and it remains after you delete your account. Anyone with its public ID can confirm the product, date, and status. Its private token or QR code also reveals the creator and work title held by the Registry, not the full assessment or uploaded evidence.
You may correct a finalized certificate. Each correction creates a new version, and every earlier version is kept as a permanent snapshot. There is a limit on how many versions one certificate can have. Major corrections may issue a new registered certificate that replaces the original, which stays on record marked as replaced. By finalizing you accept this permanence.
You may delete an unfinalized draft at any time; that permanently removes the draft and its evidence files.
EP and Album Groups
You can organize songs into an EP or album group. Each song follows the full assessment and receives its own score, certificate, and Registry entry; starting each new track uses one certificate credit from your available balance or plan allowance. The release summary does not replace the individual song certificates. An eligible completed release can unlock a Group Filing Package containing separate composition (PA) and sound recording (SR) documents with per-song details. The package is $15 once per release, with later regeneration included. Studio subscribers receive five Group Filing Packages per subscription year at no additional charge; paid packages do not use that allowance. This MHAIX fee is separate from any U.S. Copyright Office filing fees, and the documents do not themselves register your work there.
Plans, Packs, and Payments
MHAIX offers a free account and paid options, billed through Stripe. Current prices are on the Pricing page.
- Free account: one lifetime certificate credit that does not renew, with 2-year Evidence Vault access.
- Monthly plans (Creator, Pro, Studio): a monthly certificate allowance and a longer vault window (5 years, 10 years, or indefinite). Plans renew automatically each month until cancelled. Upgrading extends vault access for certificates you already hold; downgrading never shortens it.
- Certificate packs and add-ons: one-time purchases, such as extra certificates or a permanent vault extension for one certificate.
Cancelling. You can cancel a subscription at any time through the billing portal in the app. After cancellation, you keep a 90-day grace period of vault access. After that, your evidence is not deleted — it moves to the permanent archive and you can restore access later.
Refunds. Refund requests are reviewed individually by Niki, who decides whether to grant a refund, subject to any rights you have under applicable law. Contact hello@getveridem.com to request one. Approved refunds are processed manually through Stripe. If a subscription payment is refunded, your access continues through the end of the current billing period; it is not revoked immediately.
Acceptable Use
- Do not submit work you do not have the right to document, or claim authorship you do not have.
- Do not upload unlawful content, malware, or someone else's private information without permission.
- Do not try to break, overload, or get around MHAIX's security or payment limits.
- Do not use MHAIX certificates to mislead anyone about who created a work.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Third-Party Services
MHAIX relies on outside services (for example Stripe, Google, Apple, Cloudflare, Lovable Cloud, and an AI model provider). Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their outages or actions.
Disclaimers
MHAIX is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that platform risk information (Dimension 8), which reflects public information as of the date noted, is complete or current.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Veridem is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on a MHAIX score or certificate. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for MHAIX in the 12 months before the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
Changes
We may update these Terms as MHAIX changes and will update the "Last updated" date when we do. Continuing to use MHAIX after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
